While we¡¯ve mentioned previously that life in Korea may not be so different, Korea itself is different.
We do not suggest that you arrive believing that you are simply crossing over to another state or province, or relocating from say, New York to LA (though some will attest this is a whole new culture shock as well!).

Expect Korea to be different. It is half way around the world from most English-speaking countries, speaks a different language, and is populated by people used to a different way of life and culture. Therefore, arming yourself with some common knowledge beforehand would increase your chances of enjoying your new experiences that much more. Even some simple information on Do¡¯s and Don¡¯t will be helpful, as well as a quick review of some of the accepted cultural norms and behaviors.

We at ESLPia suggest that some internet searches be done on your part to get a better picture on the actual experiences by those who¡¯ve already been in Korea. Some of the more common terms of interest are listed below and its information is abundant throughout a myriad of existing sites on the net.

In addition, ESLPia strives to address the more pertinent questions on securing a position and subsequent career management issues addressed by the serious applicant wishing to come to Korea. To this end, we provide one-to-one counseling and tailor-made job consulting for individuals through phone calls and e-mail correspondence, and also provide a comprehensive guide booklet to Korea in softcopy form for the applicant prior to departure from home.
